| Spent the entire day preping jdm motor to go in a z. came with a auto tranny and an z was an auto. i figured i could use my auto tranny i had cause it was in way better shape then jdm one. i didn't know that the tourque converters/ flexplates were different between years... put motor in then got tranny lined up to tourque converter an it wouldnt slide in. spent good hour an half playing with this tranny wieghing a ton. finally i call a friend a he tells me on automatics you have to put tourque converter onto splines on tranny and bolt tranny up then bolt to flexplate (i pulled a noob move on that one, had no idea about that) so i drop the tranny again and realize the TC were different. put TC from my tranny and it slid right on perfectly easy. finally get tranny up to bolt it up and notice the flexplate holes didnt match TC. fml. 2 tranny pulls with car 1foot high off ground roughly and a cheap ass autozone jack. tomarrow i get to take tranny down again and switch flexplates. To top it off theres a sall gray clip on harness for tranny that apears to have nothing to clip into.(sure it does but cannot find it) Just venting... sorry if you didnt like the story lol. hopefully it helps another noob like myself. 5spd FTW
